The head office of the Sharii`s Party received a letter from the Vice-president of the European Parliament, Katarina Barley. She said that the situation with the attacks of right-wing radicals on supporters of the Sharii`s party would be listed on the agenda of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the relevant human rights subcommittee, and also informed that she had taken personal control of the development of these cases in Ukraine.
Ex-Minister of Justice, Vice-President of the European Parliament and member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, Katarina Barley, also condemned the inaction of the Ukrainian authorities and called for the fight against neo-Nazism and radicalism in Ukraine.
" The situation in Ukraine really bothers me: I was given an opportunity to read the data of human rights organizations about attacks on LGBTI people, the Roma, and political opponents. Today neo-Nazi formations persecute the opposition and members of the minority. This is an unacceptable phenomenon in our reality.
It is unacceptable that the police are not investigating these cases properly. The Ukrainian power should not take it for granted. Violence is an illegal method of conflict resolution that must be regulated by legal means”, - said Katarina Barley
Ms. Barley supports the position of her colleague, Mr. Köster, and ready to support his initiative in all possible ways:
"My colleague, Dietmar Köster, is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the relevant Human Rights Subcommittee. Mr. Köster has informed me that he will be dealing with the issue of Nazism in Ukraine and will put it on the agenda of the committee.
